The Graduate Program in Homeland Security at SDSU is proud to announce the introduction of the government/law enforcement career presentation series beginning Tuesday, August 22, 2017! If you are a current student, alumni or community partner, you are invited to learn about careers in Government/Law Enforcement.  Invited guests will discuss their personal stories, guidance on navigating the challenging hiring processes, and present any career/internship opportunities they may be offering.

The Homeland Security program has alumni at each and every organization presenting in this series, including dozens more. In fact, many of the presenters/recruiters are HSEC alumni themselves! Attendance by current HSEC students is highly suggested and encouraged. In this session, representatives from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement and Emergency Services will be speaking to students and guests about potential opportunities in their respective organizations. The presentation will take place from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the VizCenter located in the Chemical Sciences Lab building 120. To attend this event, please RSVP early, as space will be limited:

Beginning in Fall of 2018, work experience through internships will be mandatory for incoming graduate students in the HSEC program. Internships are a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience working directly in homeland security. These opportunities are a great way to network with industry professionals and make professional connections that will last a lifetime. Many alumni from this program have gone on to work for many of the Federal 3-letter agencies, along with many local and state departments including the FBI, San Diego Police Department, Cal OES, Department of Defense, and Stratum Point, just to name a few. You can see a comprehensive list on our website:

Stay tuned for more events in our career presentation series as we showcase other organizations relevant to homeland security throughout the semester.
